Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Educator/Trainer to support PB Coding and Coding Integrity teams in a fully remote role with a Monday–Friday schedule. You will deliver initial training and ongoing education to coders and clinicians, develop materials, and align programs with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate has recent production coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC credentials, and a track record of adult-learning instruction.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school in Medical Coding Specialist.
• Typically requires 5 years of experience in medical coding including physician revenue cycle processes.
• Specialty coding experience preferred (e.g. surgical, anesthesia, radiology, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Coding Leadership, IT leadership, and Revenue Cycle leadership.
• Deliver coding education to coders and clinicians through in-person and virtual classes.
• Identify educational needs and develop programs and materials.
• Schedule and manage education offerings using Learning Connection, ATMS, Skype or Teams.
• Develop and maintain web-based coding education programs and track progress.
• Create trainer materials and conduct train-the-trainer sessions.
