Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Educator/Trainer to deliver and develop coding education for PB Coding and Coding Integrity teams. The role supports initial training and ongoing education for coders and clinicians, using diverse delivery methods.

The ideal candidate will have recent production coding experience, specialty coding knowledge, AHIMA or AAPC certifications, and a track record in adult learning and instructional design. Remote work is allowed with a nationwide scope.

Qualifications

• Recent production coding and/or coding integrity experience preferred.
• Specialty coding experience preferred, including various physician specialties.
• Coding certifications required from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Advanced training beyond high school in Medical Coding.
• Typically 5 years of medical coding experience with revenue cycle workflows.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS; adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coding education to coders and clinicians via in-person and virtual formats.
• Develop educational materials, tools and presentations for continuing education.
• Identify coding education needs and coordinate programs with leaders.
• Schedule and manage education sessions using Learning Connection and Teams.
• Create and maintain web-based coding education modules and tracking.
• Provide train-the-trainer sessions for coding supervisors and leads.
