Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee coding. You will audit, educate, and train staff on ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring compliance and timely updates across teams.

Lead onboarding and ongoing education while aligning with leadership on strategy to maintain high-quality billing practices. The role requires extensive experience in professional fee coding, Epic proficiency, and strong analytical abilities to improve documentation quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and guidelines.
• Understand rules governing Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management abilities.
• Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data to recommend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and provide follow-up education to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to PB coding teams.
• Lead onboarding and training of new staff and develop ongoing educational programs.
• Collaborate with leadership on short- and long-term strategic planning for compliant coding practices.
• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS as SME for complex billing inquiries.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and track trends.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and provide education on Risk Adjustment, HCCs, MEAT criteria.
• Develop and deploy training programs to keep coding teams current on health plan requirements.
• Build strong relationships with coding teams to standardize practices and enable cross-department communication.
• Present educational findings and drive improvements in coding compliance.
