Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator for Professional Fee work. You will audit coding practices, educate staff, and ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines. This role includes onboarding, training program development, and cross-department collaboration.

You will stay current on Medicare rules, CHI/NCCI requirements, and lead initiatives to standardize coding across the organization while communicating changes to PB coding teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of PB coder audits, education, and training.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P, or RHIT, RHIA certifications (CPC/CCS/CCS-P, AHIMA).
• Knowledge of Medicare billing rules.
• ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and provide follow-up education to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Onboard and train new staff; develop ongoing educational programs.
• Communicate regulatory changes to PB coding teams for timely implementation.
• Lead short-term and long-term strategic planning for compliant coding and billing practices.
• Maintain subject matter expertise for complex billing inquiries across ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and related guidelines.
• Conduct systematic chart audits to identify documentation gaps and track trends.
• Develop and deploy specialized training programs for evolving health plan requirements.
• Build relationships with coding teams to standardize practices and improve cross-department communication.
• Manage deadlines and present educational findings to drive improvements in coding compliance.
