Job summary

SelectHealth - Murray, part of Intermountain Health, is seeking a Coding Analyst I to review claims and ensure compliant coding across professional, facility, and ancillary services in a multi-regulatory environment.

The role supports providers and internal departments, aligns with ERISA standards, and requires an associate degree with potential for a bachelor’s. Remote options are offered where approved, with a clear path toward professional certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
• Two years of work experience in coding, healthcare, or in a health plan environment.
• Demonstrated Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing claims (pre-payment) to monitor billing practices and ensure accurate coding and reimbursement based on contracts and regulations.
• Ensures review decisions are in line with ERISA standards.
• Logging provider appeals and sending correspondence to providers on submitted appeals.
• Serving as a consultant to various other departments within Select Health and Intermountain Healthcare.
• Supporting higher level analysts in their responsibilities and research.
• Maintaining subject-matter expertise and educates providers and staff accordingly.
