Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Coding Analyst I for SelectHealth to review claims and monitor billing practices across professional, facility, drug, and DME coding. You will support ERISA compliance and engage with physicians and facilities to improve coding accuracy.

The role involves handling provider appeals, maintaining SME knowledge, and collaborating with multiple departments. A minimum associate degree or equivalent experience is required, with potential for bachelor’s level preference.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
• Two years of work experience in coding, healthcare, or in a health plan environment.
• Demonstrated Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing claims (pre-payment) to monitor billing practices and ensure accurate coding and reimbursement based on contracts and regulations.
• Ensures review decisions align with ERISA standards.
• Logging provider appeals and sending correspondence to providers.
• Serving as a consultant to Select Health and Intermountain Healthcare departments and physicians.
