Job summary

UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is hiring a Coder III for a remote, 9- to 5-like schedule Monday through Friday during business hours. The role focuses on Pre-Bill edits, CPT/ICD-10-CM coding for IR/IC procedures, and training fellow coders while maintaining accuracy and productivity within the department.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of CPT coding experience and relevant AHIMA/AACP credentials, with preference for CIRCC certification.

Qualifications

• Three years hospital coding experience.
• Experience with CPT/ICD-10-CM coding for IR/IC procedures.
• CCS/RHIT/RHIA/CPC certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine diagnoses and procedures and assign codes with documentation review.
• Attend coding meetings and suggest operational improvements.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy targets and complete tasks on time.
• Review and respond to Pre-Bill Edit and error reports to ensure timely billing.
• Identify incomplete documentation and develop physician queries as needed.
