Job summary

Inova Health System seeks a dedicated Certified IRC Coder to join the PB Coding Operations team. This full-time role offers daytime hours Monday to Friday and remote work for eligible states.

The coder will ensure accurate CPT coding and collaborate with clinical areas to maintain revenue integrity. Ideal candidates have AHIMA or AAPC-approved training, 4 years of acute care coding/auditing experience, and will obtain CIRCC within six months.

Qualifications

• Completion of AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding or health information technology program.
• 4 years of recent coding or auditing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Obtain CIRCC within first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established standards for coding accuracy and productivity.
• Monitors unposted charge logs to ensure timely posting when documentation is ready.
• Ensures accurate assignment of CPT codes and modifiers supported by documentation for outpatient records.
• Acts as liaison between clinical areas and Coding Operations to ensure revenue integrity.
