Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Certified IRC Coder to join the PB Coding Operations team. The role is full-time with daytime hours Monday to Friday and is remote for eligible states (VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV).

We offer robust benefits and a focus on revenue integrity. Candidates should have AHIMA/AAPC training, 4 years of acute care coding experience, and CIRCC certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Completion of AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding or health information technology program.
• 4 years of recent coding or auditing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Obtain CIRCC within first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established standards for coding accuracy.
• Monitors unposted charge logs to ensure timely charge posting when documentation is present and ready for data submission.
• Assures accurate and complete assignment of CPT codes and modifiers that are supported by medical record documentation for outpatient records.
• Maintains established standards for expected productivity percentage.
• Acts as liaison between clinical area and Coding operations to ensure revenue integrity is achieved.
