Job summary

UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is seeking a Coder III to join the Coding Department. This is a work-from-home role, Monday through Friday during standard business hours.

The position focuses on inpatient coding, assigning ICD-10-CM diagnoses and PCS procedures, and reviewing documentation for accurate submission. Candidates should have AHIMA/AACP certification and 2+ years of hospital coding experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA or AACP-certified coding program or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years hospital coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code all inpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and PCS.
• Review codes for accuracy before submission to billing system.
• Adhere to department policies and complete daily productivity reporting.
• Identify incomplete documentation and request physician clarification as needed.
• Utilize coding guidelines and coding clinics to assign codes.
• Maintain ongoing professional education and participate in coding meetings.
