Job summary

DigitalOcean seeks a Technical Account Manager to partner with our most strategic customers, helping them optimize cloud usage and achieve outcomes through architectural guidance and proactive engagement.

You'll own multi-faceted responsibilities including technical leadership, quarterly business reviews, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Marketing and Account Managers, all from a remote US-based role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure and deep knowledge of Linux, distributed systems, and automation.
• Programming or development experience, with basic skills in at least one mainstream language (e.g., Python, Go).
• Understanding of provisioning and deployment strategies, with knowledge of tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
• Proven track record of successfully troubleshooting technical problems.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), SQL and basic database administration, CI/CD tools, and AI/ML infrastructure principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep product portfolio expertise and cloud strategies for customers.
• Design architectures tailored to customer use cases and explain to stakeholders.
• Conduct regular technical consultations and workshops for customer self-sufficiency.
• Maintain cloud best practices and certifications.
• Manage and grow DigitalOcean workloads with key accounts.
• Lead quarterly business reviews and align on growth strategies.
• Identify cost reduction and performance optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, and Account Managers to align goals.
• Create tooling to streamline technical engagements.
