Job summary

AvatarFleet, a provider serving transportation carriers, is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration, Linux/AWS operations, and reliability across CI/CD environments. The role emphasizes patching, audits, and automation in a fully remote team.

You will work closely with the CTO and engineering to maintain uptime, implement controls, and support secure deployments in AWS ECS and related services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration.
• Strong AWS administration skills (EC2, ECS, IAM, networking, WAF, monitoring).
• Experience with SOC 2 Type II audits and evidence collection.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, shell scripting, Docker.
• Ability to troubleshoot across Linux, AWS, networking, containers, databases, and runtimes.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II control execution and audit preparation.
• Maintain patched, hardened systems and effective monitoring.
• Support CI/CD configuration and secure pipeline access.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform and Ansible.
