Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to manage Linux-based production systems and AWS infrastructure in a fully remote role. You will own security administration, SOC 2 Type II evidence, and reliability across ECS, EC2, and supporting services, while partnering with the CTO and software teams.

You will implement and automate with Terraform and Ansible, maintain patching, monitoring, and backups, and drive secure CI/CD practices to ensure uptime and compliant operations for

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on Linux systems administration with responsibility for security and availability in production environments.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits, evidence collection, and remediation tracking.
• Strong AWS administration skills across EC2, ECS, networking, load balancing, WAF, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own AWS infrastructure administration: deploy, configure, and maintain resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS, IAM).
• Maintain Linux hosts, patching, monitoring, backups, and secure configurations for production apps.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment processes with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting.
• Investigate incidents, coordinate with engineering, and implement improvements to reduce recurrence.
• Assist in security controls, access management, and audit evidence for SOC 2 Type II.
