Job summary

AvatarFleet is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations in a fully remote US-based role. The role partners with the CTO and software engineering to manage vulnerability management, patching, and SOC 2 Type II compliance while supporting production reliability.

You will administer AWS EC2/ECS resources, Linux hosts, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring uptime, backups, and audit-ready controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and evidence collection.
• Strong AWS administration skills (EC2, IAM, networking, monitoring).

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 Type II control execution with CTO and control owners.
• Administer AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) and maintain secure configurations.
• Maintain Linux hosts, containers, and CI/CD support; ensure uptime and incident response.
• Maintain backups, runbooks, and audit evidence for compliance.
• Contribute to automation and documentation to improve reliability and security.
