Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to join our Security Operations team, supporting managed security services for cloud infrastructures. The candidate will guide teams, develop security monitoring solutions, and help detect and mitigate threats to protect client data.

This remote role supports a Herndon, VA-based team and requires strong collaboration and incident response skills. You will implement endpoint security policies, generate monthly/quarterly reports, and contribute to

Qualifications

• 4 year degree focused on Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• Experience in cybersecurity or cloud environments.
• Ability to lead small teams and communicate technically.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve system and network security monitoring capabilities.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential incidents and tune sensors.
• Implement endpoint security policies and rules.
• Support operational threat analysis from log correlation and tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Produce monthly and quarterly monitoring reports.
• Maintain production and non-production systems to protect data.
• Write knowledge base documents and SOP improvements.
