Job summary

SMX seeks a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to bolster our Security Operations team responsible for managed security services of our cloud-based infrastructures. You will guide, assist, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve cyber security posture and develop monitoring solutions that counter emerging threats.

The role emphasizes threat detection, incident response, and producing regular client-facing reports.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree focused on Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• 2+ years cyber security or cloud experience, with a preference for supporting a Security Operations Center.
• Experience with Unix, Linux or Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continually improve system and network security monitoring capabilities and procedures.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents and tune sensors and queries to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security agent policies and rules to meet defensive objectives.
• Support operational threat analysis based on log correlation and endpoint security tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Develop monthly and quarterly reports based on monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Recommend improvements; maintain/monitor production and non-production systems to protect customer data.
