Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cloud Security Operations Analyst to support our Security Operations team responsible for managed security services of cloud infrastructure. You will guide teams to evaluate cyber posture and develop monitoring solutions to counter threats, contributing to detecting and mitigating incidents using our security tools.

The role focuses on monitoring, endpoint security, threat analysis, and reporting, with opportunities to advance in a remote role supporting a Herndon VA team.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4 year degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science.
• Experience in security operations or a Security Operations Center preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust and DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continually improve system and network security monitoring capabilities and procedures.
• Monitor, triage, and notify clients of potential security incidents and tune sensors to reduce false positives.
• Implement endpoint security agent policies to meet defensive objectives.
• Support operational threat analysis based on log correlation and endpoint tools.
• Support contingency and incident response activities.
• Develop monthly and quarterly reports based on monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Recommend improvements; maintain/monitor production and non-production systems to protect data.
• Write knowledge base documents to improve operations and SOPs.
