Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Production Support Engineer to provide day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems for the VA. This is a 100% remote, full-time role based in the United States.

You will diagnose outages, implement fixes, automate tasks with Python/Bash/PowerShell, manage cloud resources (AWS/Azure), and work with security/compliance teams to maintain VA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level, day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
• Detect, isolate, document, rapidly report, and resolve system outages or problems encountered during operations.
• Accurately document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work directly with the customer in day-to-day activities.
