Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Production Support Engineer to provide day-to-day operational support for complex application cloud systems in a remote U.S.-based role. The position emphasizes uptime, incident resolution, and hands-on maintenance of computing infrastructure in a demanding VA environment.

Requirements include 8+ years in systems engineering for production environments, 3+ years with SQL querying and monitoring, strong AWS and/or Azure skills, Linux/Windows proficiency, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, especially in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring.
• Advanced certifications (e.g., RHCE, MCSE, AWS Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• US citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level daily operational support for complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Follow standard practices and procedures when analyzing data and situations.
• Detect, isolate, document, report, and resolve system outages during operations.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work directly with customers in day-to-day activities.
• Respond to user calls regarding hardware and software issues and escalate as needed.
• Communicate status of key problem statuses to users and management.
• Maintain and install computing infrastructure.
• Implement continuous improvement through IT systems and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of system assets.
• Ensure VA standards and security policies.
• Provide documentation, training, and other duties as assigned.
