Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to design and build our cloud-based data platform, ensuring high-quality data for analytics, reporting, applications, and AI. You will set standards for data engineering and guide teams to deliver reliable data products across the firm.

You will collaborate with Data Science & AI, IT Ops, and business leaders, balancing stakeholder needs with security, lineage, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3–5 years leading data engineering teams or similar.
• Experience with data ingestion, consolidation, transformation for analytics/AI.
• Experience with budget management and cost-conscious tool selection.
• Strong SQL and data structure design skills.
• Cloud data environment experience (Azure or AWS).
• Python and common data tools familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build-out of the firm’s cloud-based data platform.
• Set standards for data engineering methods and product reliability.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver data products.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and access controls.
• Partner with IT Ops and business leaders to translate needs into platform improvements.
• Provide architectural leadership for scalable, secure data solutions.
• Document projects, timelines, risks, and decisions.
