Humana Inc. seeks a Research Scientist 2 (Remote) to join the Clinical Innovation and Trend Analytic Team and drive analytics for Medicare Advantage outcomes. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, collaboration with clinicians, and translating research into actionable insights.

You will design and conduct studies, write code in SQL, SAS, and Python, and present findings to business partners. Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics, Clinical Informatics, Engineering).
• 2+ years creating datasets and analytical variables from large data using SQL, SAS, and Python.
• Experience applying research methods to generate actionable insights from big data.
• Familiarity with randomized controlled trials, propensity scoring, and diff-in-diff designs.

Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory analyses on populations, trends, and conditions to identify opportunities for outcomes improvement.
• Collaborate with clinicians to define concepts and extract information from medical, pharmacy, and lab claims.
• Use descriptive and epidemiologic methods to analyze data and design studies.
• Translate results into actionable insights and communicate with business partners.
