Job summary

Assurant, Inc. is seeking a people leader to guide a remote team of up to 15 claims adjusters supporting embedded financial-service benefits for a major client program.

You will coach, set clear expectations, and drive performance in a fast-moving environment. You will balance customer needs, claim quality, service levels, and employee development while collaborating on process enhancements, automation, and new workflows to improve the claims experience across the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Adjuster license.
• 5+ years of related experience in claims or similar activity.
• 2+ years of leadership experience or managing people.
• Attention to detail and strong investigative skills.
• Advanced communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to coach and give feedback, manage change, and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of up to 15 claims adjusters, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive, accountable environment.
• Oversee claims activities including adjudication, compliance, investigations, and sound settlements.
• Use productivity, quality, and service data to identify trends and coach to improve performance.
• Manage team workload to meet established service levels in a high-volume environment.
• Resolve escalations and serve as SME for processes and training.
• Help employees adapt to frequent system, product, and process changes with clear communication.
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
• Partner across departments and participate in client meetings and audits.
