Job summary

Aflac is recruiting for a Claims Assistant to support the claims team across initial eligibility verification and communications with clients. This role emphasizes accuracy, strong customer service, and collaboration with internal partners.

You will manage designated email boxes, prioritize tasks, and assist in processing claims while staying current with policies. The position offers hybrid or remote options within the continental US.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of related experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists claims team partners by leveraging systems and documented processes to complete the initial eligibility verification on all new claims filed.
• Maintains ownership of client specific email box to ensure timely processing of incoming mail and the creation of new claims as needed.
• Researches outstanding items to resolution.
• Prints and mails communications as needed.
• Builds effective working relationships with internal partner teams.
• Reviews daily and weekly reports to ensure accuracy of assigned work items.
• Remains current on customer service policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes multiple tasks and works independently to some degree.
• Supports management with special projects as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
