Job summary

Aflac is seeking a Social Work Specialist to advocate for claimants, develop care plans, and connect clients with community services. You will interpret medical information, manage confidential data, and coordinate with healthcare providers to streamline the claims process.

Responsibilities include documenting interactions, maintaining records, and researching updates in social work. A master's degree and relevant licensure are preferred for this role, with multi-tasking in a remote work setup.

Qualifications

Familiarity with disability claim management concepts.
Good understanding of medical terminology/pathology/anatomy.
Articulate verbal and writing skills, decision making, meeting deadlines, handling confidential information.
Moderate skills with Microsoft Office and other software applications.
Customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
High level of attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

Advocate for claimants and connect them to community services and resources.
Formulate care plans using clinical expertise and provide ongoing support to claimants and families.
Handle complex issues and escalate only the most challenging cases.
Provide emotional support to clients dealing with trauma, illness or disability.
Explain the claims process clearly and maintain open communication with clients.
Connect clients to resources like healthcare, financial aid, rehab, or legal assistance.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and referrals.
Stay informed about developments in social work through research.
Perform related duties as required.
