First American is hiring remote Appraisers to support our nationwide valuation services. You will conduct unbiased property assessments, analyze data, and estimate values in accordance with guidelines and client requirements.

Applicants should have 0–1 years of mortgage/appraisal experience or REO familiarity, plus a current state appraiser license. This role offers remote work across the United States and emphasizes accuracy, communication, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Active Appraiser license or certification as required by state's regulatory agency.
• 0–1 years of related mortgage/appraisal experience are acceptable.
• Experience with HUD/FHA programs preferred.
• Ability to work with varying client-driven deadlines.
• Strong analytical and narrative writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts unbiased assessments of market areas and property data to develop value estimates.
• Documents on-site assessments with photos, measurements and demographic information.
• Creates land diagrams and visual documentation.
• Considers factors affecting value including land, neighborhoods and future changes.
• Generates fee quotes and presents evaluations to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborates with Lead Appraiser to resolve requests and improve processes.
• Participates in monthly Appraiser meetings.
• Meets department turn-time expectations and escalates if timelines cannot be met.
