Qualifications

• High School Diploma with knowledge in Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology.
• 2 years of coding experience or 3 years of coding experience in lieu of coding education.
• Certification as CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, or COC required upon hire.
• Epic Certifications must be obtained within 5 business days of hire.
• Coding education is required.

Responsibilities

• Codes procedures and diagnoses according to Official Coding Guidelines and payer rules.
• Participates in professional development through online educational sessions and maintains participation records.
• Communicates with providers to ensure accurate and specific documentation for coding.
