Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Physician Coder I to perform coding of outpatient records using ICD and CPT guidelines in a clinic setting, with potential remote work.

You will assign codes for diagnoses and procedures, ensure correct sequencing for reimbursement, query providers when documentation is insufficient, and maintain productivity and quality in line with outpatient coding policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: 1 year outpatient coding experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA or CPC/CPC-H) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns codes to diagnosis and procedures for outpatient records using ICD and CPT.
• Ensures codes are accurately sequenced to support appropriate reimbursement.
• Researches and resolves coding edits and billing issues in queues.
• Queries providers when documentation is insufficient or ambiguous.
• Maintains productivity and quality per coding standards.
• Collaborates with supervisors and clinic staff on documentation and charging issues.
• Engages in ongoing coding education and professional development.
