Qualifications

• Two years outpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• AHIMA certification (CCA) preferred.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS certification required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Review encounters to assign and sequence diagnoses and CPT codes with modifiers per guidelines.
• Seek clarification from providers to ensure complete coding.
• Create electronic queries within allowed scope for outpatient coding.
