Sun Transportation Systems USA is seeking a CDL Driver Recruiter to source and hire company drivers and owner-operators, manage onboarding, and support training while ensuring DOT and FMCSA compliance. The role collaborates with operations to improve driver retention and performance.

The position involves recruiting strategies across Indeed, job boards, social media, and referrals, plus overseeing onboarding, orientation, and ELD monitoring using Samsara where preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of recruiting experience in trucking or driver hiring.
• Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Source, recruit, and onboard company drivers and owner-operators.
• Conduct phone screenings, interviews, and participate in hiring decisions.
• Develop and execute recruiting strategies using Indeed, job boards, social media, and referrals.
• Promote Sun Transportation Systems USA to attract high-quality drivers.
• Run new driver orientation and onboarding processes.
• Perform road tests and OTR evaluations when required.
• Train drivers on company policies, safety expectations, and ELD usage.
• Support new hires during onboarding and transition to dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain accurate driver qualification files.
• Monitor driver performance using ELD systems, with Samsara preferred.
• Coordinate with dispatch and planning teams to forecast hiring needs.
• Develop driver retention programs and engagement strategies.
• Track recruiting and operations KPIs including cost per hire, time to hire, and turnover rate.
• Address driver concerns to improve satisfaction and retention.
