Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a seasoned Category Manager, Logistics Services, to lead category strategies for transportation, fleet, and courier services. You will negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and drive cost savings while collaborating with internal clients and cross-functional teams.

The role reports to Supply Management, requires 7+ years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting and implementation.
• Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing.
• Analyze procurement spend and track opportunities to improve total cost, service, efficiency, and risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements; evaluate alternatives and build business cases.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers; establish performance expectations and governance.
• Partner with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category and supplier documentation and provide timely reporting on activities and performance.
