Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to develop and execute sourcing strategies for transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services. Reporting to the Director of Supply Management, you will partner with internal clients, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; master's preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend within a large organization preferred.
• Solid leadership with collaboration and influence; ability to develop business cases and communicate with stakeholders.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting and implementation.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms.
• Analyze spend and opportunities to improve total cost, service, and risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and requirements to support sourcing decisions.
• Identify and manage supplier performance and risk; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain documentation and provide reporting on strategies, activities, and supplier performance.
