Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead category strategies, sourcing initiatives, and supplier performance for transportation, fleet and related logistics services. This role partners with internal clients and Supply Management to deliver cost savings, service improvements, and risk reduction.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in procurement or supply management, with strong leadership and negotiation skills, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience in procurement or supply management.
• Professional certifications (e.g., C.P.M., CPSM, CPIM) preferred.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Experience managing third-party spend in large organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to award and implementation.
• Lead contract negotiations and pricing to obtain favorable terms.
• Analyze spend and identify opportunities to improve total cost and service.
• Evaluate spend data, market conditions, and business needs to support business cases.
• Define KPIs and manage supplier performance and risk.
• Collaborate with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Maintain category governance and provide timely reporting.
