Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing for transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics. You will partner with internal clients and suppliers to drive cost savings, service improvements, and risk mitigation while delivering measurable value.

Reporting to Supply Management, you will develop category strategies, manage supplier performance, and negotiate favorable terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field (or equivalent).
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certifications (C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend.
• Experience with supplier management and strategic sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to market assessment.
• Develop contract terms and negotiate pricing with suppliers.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements to drive improvements.
• Evaluate alternatives, develop business cases, and support sourcing decisions.
• Define KPIs and governance for supplier performance and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal clients and cross-functional teams for implementation.
• Maintain documentation and provide reporting on strategies and outcomes.
