Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead category strategies for transportation, fleet, and courier services. You will manage complex sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, and drive improvements in cost, service, and risk across a broad supplier base.

You will partner with internal clients and cross-functional teams, deliver data-driven insights, and ensure governance and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field required; master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend preferred.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Planning: Develop, document, and execute category strategies for logistics services.
• Strategic Sourcing: Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting.
• Negotiation & Commercial Management: Lead contract and pricing negotiations, ensure favorable terms.
• Cost, Value & Performance Improvement: Improve total cost, service, and risk with measurable value.
• Analysis & Business Cases: Analyze spend, market conditions, and business needs to support decisions.
• Supplier Management & Performance: Define KPIs, governance, monitor performance, and drive improvements.
• Stakeholder Management: Align with internal clients and cross-functional teams.
• Category Governance & Reporting: Maintain documentation and report on activities and outcomes.
