Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead the sourcing and management of transportation, fleet, couriers, and related services. The role partners with internal clients and Supply Management to drive cost savings, performance improvements, and risk mitigation across a national scope.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Management, you will develop strategies, manage supplier relationships, and deliver measurable value while ensuring governance and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience.
• Experience managing third-party spend within a large organization preferred.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Planning: Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Strategic Sourcing: Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market assessment, supplier evaluation, and contracting.
• Negotiation & Commercial Management: Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing.
• Cost, Value & Performance Improvement: Analyze spend and implement opportunities for cost savings and performance improvements.
• Analysis & Business Cases: Analyze spend, market conditions, and business needs to evaluate alternatives and develop business cases.
• Supplier Management & Performance: Define KPIs, monitor performance, and drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Management: Align with internal clients and cross-functional teams to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Category Governance & Reporting: Maintain documentation and provide reporting on strategies, activities, and performance.
