Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to support patient access to therapy through reimbursement services, insurance benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and payer coordination. You will work with providers, payers, and partners to ensure timely coverage and delivery while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role emphasizes proactive outreach, accurate documentation, and collaboration within a remote, full-time environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 3–6 years experience in a related field preferred.
• Experience with fertility, Travel & Lodging BI experience preferred.
• 1–2 years experience conducting and documenting patient health insurance benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and appeals, preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercially insured payer common practices and policies, preferred.
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Market Place and the Affordable Care Act preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical/Pharmacy billing and coding is preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide healthcare providers through the patient journey to therapy, including referral intake and coverage coordination.
• Mediate effective resolution for complex payer/pharmacy issues toward a positive outcome to de-escalate.
• Proactive follow-up with insurers, specialty pharmacies, and support organizations to facilitate access to therapy.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication; meet daily task and enrollment goals.
