The position offers telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. and requires AHIMA/AAPC credentials with 2+ years of cardiology coding experience. Strong EHR proficiency is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) renewed annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience with a focus in cardiology services.
• 2+ years of experience with Windows PCs, MS Excel, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and medical records to assign diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract and code professional fee services for non-invasive cardiology procedures ( Stress testing, Stress echocardiography, TTE, TEE).
• Apply CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers per guidelines and payer requirements.
• Ensure documentation supports billed procedures.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and obtain clarifications from providers.
• Handle coding edits, claim denials, and audit findings to support reimbursement.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards; stay current with coding regulations.
