Qualifications

• 3+ years of Pro-Fee coding experience across multiple specialties.
• Advanced proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, Modifiers & HCPCS coding.
• Strong medical terminology, disease processes and anatomy knowledge.
• Ability to apply coding guidelines and reference materials accurately.

Responsibilities

• Apply understanding of medical coding subjects to assign accurate codes.
• Interpret clinical documentation using anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Identify unclear or incomplete documentation and generate queries.
• Follow up with providers when responses to queries are not timely.
• Utilize coding software and references to determine codes.
• Apply post-query responses to finalize determinations.
• Ensure compliance with Medical Coding guidelines and revenue cycle impact.
• Manage multiple work tasks to meet productivity and turnaround standards.
• Resolve edits or denials related to code assignments.
• Respond to questions from coding quality audits.
• Educate and mentor others to improve coding quality.
