Job summary

NMS seeks a Remote Cook’s Helper/Pantry to support food prep and service in a remote camp setting. This rotational 3-week on/3-week off schedule runs twelve hours daily from Anchorage, AK, with no supervisory responsibilities.

Duties span cooking support, stocking, cleaning, and occasional housekeeping tasks in a demanding industrial kitchen. The role requires a high school diploma/GED, kitchen experience, and Alaska ServSafe or comparable certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two years of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related vocational training.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Pre-employment checks including drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessments.
• Must communicate in English and work with a team.
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift and live in dormitory-style accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and kitchen staff and coordinate activities in the food service area.
• Prepare and cook foods including vegetables, entrees, breakfast, lunch, and dinner items.
• Maintain inventory and restock food service areas as needed.
• Clean dishes, utensils, and dining areas; organize storage spaces.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning projects and waste removal.
• Report safety or sanitation issues to supervisor.
