Job summary

NMS is hiring multiple Remote Kitchen Helpers to maintain sanitation, assist with food preparation, stocking and serving in remote camp kitchens. The Milne Point Camp location on the North Slope operates on a 3-week on/3-week off rotation with Anchorage, AK as the point of hire origin.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a commercial kitchen or equivalent training, and obtain Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, physical, fit-for-duty and hearing test.
• Must work well in a team and follow supervision.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift.
• Must live in dormitory-style housing and meet cleanliness standards.
• English proficiency required (speak/read/write).
• Must comply with safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities in a food service area.
• Prepare and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
