Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Kitchen Helper for remote camp locations in Alaska. The role supports cooks, handles food preparation, stocking, and serving duties while maintaining sanitation standards in industrial kitchen settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, cleaning, coordinating with team members, and adhering to safety guidelines. Candidates must meet pre-employment testing and Alaska-specific certifications and be able to work in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a commercial kitchen or vocational training demonstrating knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, food prep, and cleaning processes.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe certification required on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment testing including drug, physical and fit-for-duty assessments; travel to nearest testing facility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and coordinate activities within a food service area.
• Prepare and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain stock in service and storage areas and ensure cleanliness of dining and kitchen spaces.
• Wash dishes and utensils and organize storage areas.
• Clean and sanitize floors, surfaces, and equipment in dining and kitchen areas.
• Assist with large scheduled cleaning projects and remove garbage.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• Notice safety and sanitation issues and inform supervisor.
