Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. (NMS Camp Services) is seeking a part-time/on-call Kitchen Helper for remote camp locations in Alaska. You will assist cooks, stock areas, and maintain high sanitation in a busy camp kitchen and dining spaces.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year kitchen experience or related training, Alaska Food Workers Card/ServSafe, English fluency, and ability to work 12-hour shifts in dorm-style housing. Pre-employment screening applies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Pass pre-employment screening including drug test and medicals.
• Must work well in a team and follow safety guidelines.
• Must stand for long shifts and live in dormitory-like remote camp housing.
• Contract requires speaking, understanding, reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Stocks products and materials in service areas and storage.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas; maintains sanitation.
• May prepare food items such as vegetables, entrees, coffee or sauces.
• Notify supervisor if safety or sanitation standards are not met.
• Performs additional duties related to department needs as assigned.
