Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation is seeking a part-time, on-call Kitchen Helper to support remote camp kitchens. The role covers sanitation, cleaning, food preparation, stocking and serving across the kitchen, storeroom, dining and serving areas in remote camp locations, with work on rotating shifts up to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe certification on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment checks (drug test, physical, fit for duty).
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift.
• Must live in dormitory-style camp housing.
• Contract requires English reading/writing/speaking.
• Must adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Maintains stock levels in service and storage areas.
• Stocks various food service areas with products and materials.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots and pans and stores them orderly.
• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Cleans dining, kitchen, and storage areas; cleans spike rooms and equipment.
• Assists with large scheduled cleaning projects.
• Removes garbage from assigned areas.
• Sets up, breaks down, and cleans tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• May occasionally prepare food or assist with cooking.
• May be assigned other duties to support department success.
• Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not met.
