Job summary

NANA Management Services, LLC is seeking a Kitchen Helper for remote camps in Alaska. You will support cooks, assist with food prep, stocking, and cleaning in an industrial kitchen and dining area, ensuring sanitation and safety standards in remote locations.

This role requires long shifts, teamwork, and the ability to live in dormitory-style housing. English communication, pre-employment testing, and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a commercial kitchen or equivalent training.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment tests including drug and medical assessments.
• Able to work as part of a team with limited supervision.
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift on rotation.
• Must live in dormitory-style housing in remote camps.
• Must speak, read and write English.
• Must follow all safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and coordinate activities within a food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain products at proper levels in prep, serving and storage areas.
• Stock food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils and equipment and store properly.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean dining, kitchen and storage areas and equipment; assist with large cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas and maintain cleanliness.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars and serving lines.
• May occasionally prepare food or cook items as needed.
• Report safety or sanitation concerns to supervisor.
• Perform other duties to support department success.
