Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a California Employment Attorney for a remote contract assignment anticipated to last approximately 2 to 6 months. The attorney will support a single client with a high-volume, revolving portfolio of employment-related matters and will manage claims from pre-litigation through litigation when necessary.

Key responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, taking depositions, evaluating claims, and developing case strategy

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• Residence and practice in California.
• Minimum of 4 years of California employment law experience.
• Current in-house or law firm employment law experience.
• Experience handling employment litigation matters, including research, motions, pleadings, briefs, and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of California employment law claims from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents in compliance with California law.
• Take and defend depositions and support all phases of the litigation process when settlements are not possible.
• Evaluate claims, develop case strategy, and participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution efforts.
• Independently manage assigned matters with minimal supervision while providing strategic legal support to the client.
