Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a California Employment Attorney for a remote contract assignment anticipated to last about 2 to 6 months. The attorney will support a single client with a high-volume portfolio of employment matters and will help manage claims from pre-litigation through litigation when necessary.

Active California Bar membership, residence in California, and at least 4 years of California employment law experience are required, with in-house or law firm employment-law practice preferred

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• Reside and practice in California.
• Minimum of 4 years of California employment law experience.
• Current in-house or law firm employment law experience.
• Experience handling employment litigation matters, including research, motions, pleadings, and depositions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of California employment law claims from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents per CA law.
• Take and defend depositions and support all phases of litigation when settlements fail.
• Evaluate claims, develop strategy, and participate in settlement and dispute resolution.
• Independently manage assigned matters with minimal supervision while guiding the client.
