Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a California Employment Attorney for a remote contract assignment expected to last approximately 2 to 6 months. The attorney will support a single client with a high-volume, revolving portfolio of employment-related matters and will play a key role in managing claims from pre-litigation through the litigation process when necessary.

This position requires active California Bar membership, residency in California, and at least four years of California

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• Reside in California and practice there.
• At least four years of California employment law experience.
• Experience in-house or at a law firm handling employment matters.
• Experience managing litigation, including research, motions, pleadings, and depositions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of California employment law claims from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents in compliance with California employment laws.
• Take and defend depositions and support all phases of the litigation process when matters cannot be resolved through settlement.
• Evaluate claims, develop case strategy, and participate in settlement negotiations and other dispute resolution efforts.
• Independently manage assigned matters with minimal supervision while providing strategic legal support and guidance to the client.
