Job summary

Silvus is seeking a Business Development Engineer, USSOCOM to join the Applications Engineering team. This role bridges RF capabilities with USSOCOM customer requirements and emerging trends for mission-critical networks.

You will support USSOCOM acquisition stakeholders, demonstrate interoperability across field environments, and help translate field feedback into product roadmap inputs. Travel up to 50% with remote work options depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Network Engineering or related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense tech roles; OR HS Diploma with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP routing, or tactical comms.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and SOF-peculiar requirements, mapping needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, configuration, and field trials of networks and modernizations.
• Collaborate to leverage benchmarking data to ensure proposed architectures are sound.
• Align with Business Development to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Create technical demos for low-signature, resilient, tactical edge needs of USSOCOM and commands.
• Contribute input for RFI/RFP responses and engage with partners and stakeholders.
• Travel to customer sites, labs, and field tests (up to 50%).
