Job summary

Silvus Technologies in the United States is seeking a Business Development Engineer to join the Applications Engineering team. This role bridges RF capabilities with USSOCOM customer requirements and emerging trends, supporting acquisition stakeholders and field demonstrations across multi-domain environments.

The position requires travel up to 50% to customer sites, labs, and field-testing environments, with remote work possible depending on location. A SECRET clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USSOCOM capability gaps and mapping operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to ensure architectures are technically sound.
• Maintain alignment with Business Development to meet technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Develop technical demos tailored to low-signature and tactical edge needs for USSOCOM.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and test end-to-end architectures.
• Travel to customer sites and laboratories for field-testing and demonstrations.
• Work with stakeholders across USSOCOM and related commands.
