Cover Whale is seeking a Business Development Associate to manage a portfolio of partners in the North East region (PA, NJ, VA, MD, NY, CT) for a fully remote role. You will develop distribution strategies, nurture relationships, and drive partner growth while collaborating with underwriting, marketing, and growth teams to maximize premium and market impact.

The role emphasizes onboarding new customers, multi-channel outreach, and consistent performance tracking.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in insurance and/or commercial trucking.
• Strong video and phone skills.
• Experience onboarding and guiding new customers to realize and repeat value.
• Mastery of multi-channel outreach using repeatable cadences.
• Experience running discovery meetings and securing next steps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and growth to develop distribution strategies and generate partner premium.
• Manage a portfolio of emerging and lower-volume partners, building relationships and driving growth.
• Research target markets, prospective partners, and competitive intelligence to support pipeline.
• Engage and grow relationships with existing partners and identify opportunities for expansion.
• Track KPIs and report performance, aiming to exceed goals.
• Support onboarding processes and continual improvement of partner management.
• Represent Cover Whale positively among partners and prospects through proactive outreach.
• Assist with logistics for retail-focused engagements and regional event presence.
• Monitor partner performance and escalate risks where needed.
• Maintain accurate partner data in HubSpot.
